Is it necessary to apply moisturizer if you have oily skin?

I’ve always used a moisturizer before when i was using all the acne products from proactiv to neutrogena to clean & clear..etc.
since i had a light chemical peel and i’ve been using the cetaphil gentle cleanser, i find that i still use the oil-free moisturizer but get little blemishes everyday.
If after gentle cleansing face and i don’t feel any dryness or tightness on the face, moisturizer is not necessary is it?

YES!
It keeps your skin healthier. Just because you’re oily doesn’t mean you’re moisturized (I know that’s weird, but my sister’s a dermatologist. She said that’s one of the biggest mistakes people make).
Plus, if you continually use moisturizer you’re way less likely to get wrinkles early.

A friend of mine with “super” oily skin uses the men’s line from Mary kay and raves about it.
His skin look a lot healthier now and he gets weekly ******* at the barbershop for about 5 bucks with a trim.

Hey, I have really oily skin too and I never needed a moisturizer until one day I noticed that my nose was kind of flaking. This only happened in the winter. I ignored it. Years later I moved to the mountains where the elevation was higher and the winters were way colder and dryer. My entire face was still oily, but now after washing even though it wasn’t dry or tight, it was still kind of flaking and peeling.
I started having to use a moisturizer with salicylic acid in it to help keep my skin clear without it peeling. It is a good idea to use one because washing your face strips it of natural oils.
I wouldn’t worry about it unless you are noticing that your face is changing, cetaphil is a great cleanser that I switched to and it’s so gentle that no, I don’t think you need one. If you stop using and find that you do, I highly recommend Clean and Clear’s Advantage line, it comes in a silver bottle and is comparable to Proactiv. Good luck!

Yes. The problem is that when you use a system, it’s not REALLY customized for your specific skin.
If your cleanser is working well for you… Stick with it. Changing it can ***** up the pH in your skin and throw it out of whack. When you find something that works, keep it! Do you use an astringent? They are specifically made for oily skin. Cleansers raise the pH of your skin. This means you need something to neutralize it and return it to it’s normal, healthy level. Astringents, toners, fresheners, etc… Are forms of skin care products that are used for this purpose. (Each depending on your skin type). If you have oily skin, you want a good astringent to use after your cleanser, and before your moisturizer.
I use Clean & Clear acne clearing astringent. It seems to work pretty well. I use Biore pore minimizing oil free moisturizer, but I mix it with water, and I don’t use it every day. That might be a helpful option for you. If your skin produces enough sebum to keep it moisturized well for the most part, then you don’t need to do it every day. I would try doing it every other day, mixed with water, in the morning after cleaning your face. (Oil tends to pool on the skin during the night. That’s why most people wake up with shiny faces! Lol).

I would still use it, but stick with lighter moisturizer like gel/lotion type. Using moisturizer can also prevent dirts going into your pores.
