What illnesses cause a rash on the face in children?
Anne asked:
He had a fever for almost exactly 24 hours with a runny nose and no appetite. The next day he’s back to normal with a little rash on the sides of his nose. Now today the rash is around the eyes nose and above the mouth.
It’s not raised and there are no blisters or anything. It just looks like a giant patch of red, dry, blotchy skin.
Any ideas what it might be?
It’s now less than 48 hours after the fever broke.

Does he have a sore throat? It could be scarlet fever. Sometimes it doesn’t even present with a sore throat I had it all the time when I was younger. Try to Web MD it.

Could be meningitis or chicken pox, or scarlet fever, or an allergic reaction to medicine you gave him or something he ate.

It could be just a mere case of an allergic reaction to anything from meds your giving him, a fabric/clothing, laundry detergents and fabric softener an animal…many things.
Rashes usually cure themselves if thats all they are–a red patchy rash.
